Likemind Breakfast is your monthly morning wake up call, open to all and with no other agenda than just getting people together to have interesting conversations. No introduction is needed and strangers are very welcome. So if you are new in town or just feel social, this is the place for you to be.

Likemind started in New York City and is now a global event, with breakfasts taking place in more than 70 cities all over the world. The event takes place every third Friday of the month.

Drop by any time between 8:30-10:00 and stay as long or short as you like.

Watch Conan O’Brien swear, sweat, trash talk and be hilarious at a special Stand-up edition of DocLounge Helsinki, featuring live stand-up and Rodman Flender’s entertaining documentary about Conan’s legendary 6 month “self therapy” tour through 32 american cities.

After his public break-up with NBC and the Tonight Show, Conan hits the road with his band, a hand full of jokes and a couple of special guests (Stephen Colbert, Jim Carrey, Jack White…) on a ”Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour”. We follow him as he clears his head and the wheels start turning for his current show on cable tv, which just recently celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary. Conan O’Brien as you have never seen him before!

This fun packed evening starts with a line-up of great Finnish stand-ups: Ulla Virtanen (MC), Aki Oksanen, Jaakko Kilpeläinen, Philip Schwarzman, Sampo Luoto, Nikolay Antonov, Janne Oravisto, Anna Markko, Heikki Multanen.

Thespians Anonymous is an active, non-profit amateur drama group at Helsinki University that aims to promote English language, culture and drama work in Finland.

From Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 they will perform a collection of 5 short comedic plays, directed by 5 directors in one show. You’ll get 5 plays for the price of one! Woot woot!

“Under a Microscope – Five Perspectives on Human Life” takes a look into five different aspects of the species most familiar to us, the humans, through the eyes of someone else.

Concert & Film for the price of 1! Such a perfect combination for a snowy 1st December evening. Hanging out in Dubrovnic Lounge (Helsinki’s no. 1 film and festival bar, in case you hadn’t noticed), drinking a glass of hot glögi with your friends, while listening to the amazing songs of Aino Venna, also known as filmmaker Aino Ahokas to some. Last time I went to one of her concerts, the goosebumps just didn’t want to go away (and they were the good kind, believe me!).

If you didn’t get tickets to the R&A screenings of ‘The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights‘ earlier this year, now is also your chance to get a unique behind the scenes look into the World of Meg & Jack White as they tour Canada in 2007. Besides playing the usual venues Meg and Jack also play surprise concerts in buses, cafés and for Indian tribal elders. My personal favorite was the one-note concert. Don’t miss this snowy white pearl of a music doc!
