As you surely have realized by now, the Night of the Arts (27 August) is full of amazing events to explore and enjoy. Like the Media Facades Festival, Kortfilm åt Folket (short films for the people) or the Fotomaraton, to name just a few.

Naturally we can’t write about every single event, but had to pick. And so we chose a venue that we have been wanting to explore for month, but never got around to.

The Arkadia International Bookstore is a cozy heaven for book lovers from all over the World. The owner himself has a mixed background, made out of French, German and Guatemalan ingredients. Apart from international books, this little shop offers free tea, a couch and a variety of local Finnish art souvenirs.

If you follow the Arkadia blog you’ll notice a lot of other things going on as well. Most weeks you’ll be able to experience book signings, recitals, concerts and discussions in a variety of languages.

During the Night of the Arts the store will be visited by a bunch of interesting musicians and performers and we’re sure it will be an incredibly cozy and welcome break away from the crazy crowds.
